
The icCALTE Conference was held on February 13–15, 2026, at TED University in Ankara, Türkiye. Prior to the conference, two pre-conference workshops were organized. Dr. Nilüfer Can Daşkın (Hacettepe University) conducted a workshop on Classroom Interactional Competence and Language Teaching, in which participants engaged in hands-on tasks related to classroom interactional competence. In the second pre-conference workshop, Dr. Silvia Kunitz, Dr. Nigel Musk, and Dr. Arzu Kanat-Mutluoğlu from the DigiLTE Project team introduced the DigiLTE MOOC through hands-on activities.
The conference officially opened with welcome remarks by the project coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ufuk Balaman. He also delivered a keynote speech, introducing the project and presenting its key achievements. The first day concluded with parallel sessions and an invited panel session organized by Simona Pekarek-Doehler (University of Neuchâtel) on Fundamental CA Research on L2 Interaction: Lessons for Applied CA Research.
The second day began with parallel sessions, followed by a keynote speech delivered by Dr. Olcay Sert (Mälardalen University) entitled From Guided Discovery Tasks to Reflective Interactions: CA-Informed Teacher Education and Continuous Professional Development for All. The day concluded with further parallel sessions and another invited panel session organized by Maxi Kupetz (Leipzig University) on CA Perspectives on Classroom Interaction in Teacher Education: State of the Art and Future Directions.
The final day of the conference started with parallel sessions and a panel featuring studies based on data from the DigiLTE Project. The conference concluded with a keynote speech by Dr. Hansun Waring (Teachers College, Columbia University), entitled Conversation Analysis on and for Language Teacher Education.
The conference brought together a total of 129 registered participants and featured 68 paper presentations, including research contributions from all project partners based on data collected within the DigiLTE Project.
